UNPLUG FROM STRESS
For just two months each year (May half term and the school summer holiday) we open our fields for camping. The Camping grounds themselves are situated on two level fields, ringed by hills and protected by mature trees providing a sheltered and tranquil site. The grassy banks of the river Manifold provide an ideal spot for a picnic, a paddle or perhaps a dip on a hot day. In the evening, light a campfire, toast some marshmallows, watch the sun go down and enjoy the stars.
Our toilet and shower facilities come in immaculately clean and quirky shepherds huts. We have a covered sink area for washing up and a freezer for your ice packs. While we can't offer electric hook-ups, we provide lockers with charging points for phones etc.
As we are situated in quite such a rural location we have a very limited mobile phone signal in the valley. We do offer a wifi hub for you to check your phones, but why not take the opportunity to have a digital detox? We have plenty of space for games and adventures including a rounders pitch, a petanque court and a table tennis table. Come and make some new friendships!
We have a small campsite shop, selling camping essentials, milk, bread, locally sourced bacon, sausages, marshmallows etc. We also have freshly baked croissants and baguettes available to order for breakfast. In addition, our vintage ice-cream bike tours the site every evening, selling delicious local ice cream.
We consider that camping isn't complete without a campfire and firepits are provided for free in reclaimed wheel rims. Our trailer delivers everything you need for your fire, including logs, kindling and firelighters which come in recycled coffee bags.
On Fridays, we open our vintage horsebox and light our woodfired pizza oven. Place your order and have our delicious freshly made pizza delivered to your tents
Saturday is our outdoor film night (weather permitting) when, at dusk we will be showing a family friendly film via our wireless headphones (so we don’t disturb the peace.) There is a small fee to hire these. Bring your deckchairs and enjoy the show.
Another source of great excitement and already a firm favourite with out younger guests is our Sunday morning vintage tractor and trailer tour around the fields. Let the adventure begin!
Please note we are a small family friendly campsite. In order to maintain the peace of the site and out of consideration for our neighbours, we respectfully ask you to observe our rules:
-
No amplified music
-
11pm noise curfew
-
Please respect other campers
-
Dogs to be kept under control - Please pick up your poo!
Pitches are £27.50 per night based on 1 tent, 2 adults and up to 3 children. Please contact us to book.
